Job Description

At CoBank, our Learning and Development Program Manager guides the creation and management of the learning programs with CoBank. This role uses insights and current best-practices to ensure learning offerings align to business strategies, are varied to support an array of learners, and enables CoBank associates to strengthen their skills and contribute using their talents. This role partners closely with the Director of Learning and Development, who is the lead learning facilitator.

*Must be willing to work 3-4 days in office/week.

 

Essential Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Uses learning and program management expertise, and evolving best practices, to update and modernize technical, professional and leadership curriculums.
  • Helps update existing and create new learning programs that are aligned to and help deliver against organizational business strategies.
  • Designs innovative learning paths for associates’ current roles, as well as future career development paths.
  • Manages end-to-end program management experience of creation of content, development of learning materials, logistics of learning experiences, marketing of learning opportunities, and feedback for continual refinement.
  • Guides day-of activities for learning programs including set-up, welcoming attendees, ensuring facilitators can utilize the technology, assist with last-minute changes, roster and completion management and post-learning follow-up.
  • Stays current on capabilities needed for the workplace of the future and researches both internally-developed and vendor-provided solutions to meet these needs.
  • Partners with CoBank Director of Learning and Development, the primary learning facilitator within the organization.
  • Once learning is created, develops a communication and internal marketing strategy ahead of learning launch.
  • Organize learning in Learning Management System (LMS) for better searching/viewing within CoBank’s learning management system Reports metrics against strategic priorities and compliance requirements.
  • Creates learning journeys for CoBank’s key talent strategies, including role succession, critical skills, critical roles, early career strategies, and diversity/equity/inclusion.
  • Develops measures of success for learning tools and products, and regularly assess effectiveness and regularly reports out results.
  • Works with business leaders from across the bank to assess training needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Assists in managing relationships with training vendors.

Education

Minimum of HS Diploma or GED, preferred Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience

  • 5 years experience in a Human Resources department in areas such as learning and development, program management, organizational effectiveness, HR Business Partner, or any other relevant function required 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and education materials required

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Embraces and applies a mindset of continual improvement by using feedback, retrospectives, and industry research and outcome metrics.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles
  • Effective relationship building with all levels of associates, leaders and executives
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
  • Excellent research, judgement, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $100,000-$145,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
