Job Description

Supports the business to recruit, retain and engage associates through various compensation plans such as base salaries or wages, short-term incentive plans, and long-term incentive plans. Oversees the daily transactional review of compensation-related inquiries and requests. Implementation and execution of an appropriate employee compensation structure. Maintains new job titles and conducts reclassification of roles. Participates in salary surveys. Works in partnership with the rest of the Human Resources team and business units within CoBank.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct job evaluations and analyze salary surveys to appropriately level roles within CoBank’s salary structure
  • Create and update job descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect the responsibilities and requirements of each position evaluated.
  • Determine Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) classification for new and current positions in partnership with legal.
  • Provide and interpret data analysis for market competitive assessments and cost estimates.
  • Analyzes data and prepares statistical reports related to job review activities, salary equity issues, and trend analysis.
  • Maintains systems of record for Compensation and Retirement team.
  • Participates in yearly compensation surveys to ensure market competitiveness
  • Researches and directly responds to managers' complex pay-related questions.
  • Assists Compensation team with Year-End Merit & Bonus and yearly promotional cycle.
  • Creates and maintains standard compensation reports, ad hoc reports, and queries.
  • Conducts information searches pertaining to salaries, job classifications, and other requests.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to enhance or improve business processes and documentation of team procedures.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations for team meetings.
  • Manage data hygiene for compensation and retirement within internal data systems and their corresponding vendor application systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred

Work Experience

  • 2 years of compensation experience required
  • 1 year of retirement plan experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and techniques.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • CCP and PHR certifications preferred.

Physical Exertion Details

Sedentary Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $77,951 - $98,354. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
