Job Description

CoBank's Data Engineering (DE) team is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines that power our data-driven strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and secure movement of data across the organization. This role requires strong technical skills and a passion for building scalable data solutions that align with business objectives.

Essential Functions

1. Design and implement ETL processes for complex data integration tasks.

2. Develop and optimize data models for cloud and on-premises environments.

3. Collaborate with business and engineering teams to gather and understand data requirements.

4. Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of data warehouses and data lakes.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

 

Bachelor's degree may be substituted with four years of related experience (four years is in addition to what is minimally required for the role), or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Work Experience

3 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field, required

Other Qualifications

1. Proficiency in ETL processes and data modeling techniques.

2. Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and cloud platforms (especially AWS).

3. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

4. Core Competencies: advanced problem-solving and analytical skills; agile project management and teamwork; leadership potential and initiative.

5. Experience with AWS services and other cloud environments (preferred).

6. Involvement in open-source projects related to data engineering (preferred).

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $86,960.96-$120,919.22. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
