Integral member of the Financial Reporting Department who manages all reporting aspects of CoBank's loan portfolios. Primary responsibilities include preparing financial reports and analysis for Funding Corporation, regulatory, shareholder, other agencies, and executive management assuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements and financial reporting practices. Works closely with District Associations to accurately reflect results within the district loan reporting process, researches and resolves discrepancies between the Associations general ledger and supplemental data requests. Performs special projects that support the requirements of the Controller Division. Performs system testing, implementation work and data validation.
1. Prepares regulatory, management and shareholder analysis utilizing Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close, Tableau and other tools. Creates/maintains ad hoc reports for financial reporting and tracking financial data related to various key initiatives as necessary.
2. Gains and maintains a deep understanding of the Bank and Association loan data, including underlying source data (loans 2, monthly retail loans) and related field definitions via the IDWG Data Dictionary.
3. Maintains current knowledge of accounting and regulatory rules and evaluates the impact on CoBank and District reporting. Researches accounting issues, recommends appropriate accounting treatment and assists in implementing such recommendations. Assess the impact of accounting and regulatory changes on the existing account hierarchy and enacts changes to ensure compliance.
4. Prepares certain financial sections of CoBank’s District, annual and quarterly reports and Association communications to ensure adequate and appropriate disclosure.
5. Maintains department controls, processes, and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements, internal control over financial reporting (ICFR), and industry practice.
6. Assists in system user acceptance testing and implementation work. Works with various project teams to assess potential upstream and downstream impacts Develops/maintains automated accounting system reports and spreadsheets.
7. Develops and maintains relationships with both external District Associations and internal CoBank department contacts, supporting quarterly reporting coordination, and improving data collection and reporting processes.
8. Identifies opportunities to streamline processes to improve efficiency in the reporting of CoBank’s loan portfolio and works with other CoBank stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $108,400 - $133,280. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
