Directs the activities and staff of a financial reporting group to ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting and analysis for the CoBank District. The CoBank District consists of Farm Credit associations and one funding bank (CoBank). Works with various groups and associations to obtain data required for financial reporting, to combine such data and to meet relevant reporting deadlines.
1. Leads the preparation of quarterly CoBank District financial reports for presentation to shareholders and the Federal Farm Credit Funding Corporation (Funding Corp). This effort involves combining financial data from affiliated entities into a combined set of financial reports and supplemental data. Reporting must meet Farm Credit guidelines and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Reviews all final reports for accuracy prior to submission.
2. Manages the maintenance of certain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation, testing and systems related to financial reporting process.
3. Provides assistance to other bank accounting areas as needed, including pension accounting and the coordination of certain accruals and estimates among District entities.
4. Maintains relationship with CoBank’s business units, the associations and Funding Corp staff to develop thorough understanding of events and issues impacting the CoBank District and Farm Credit System (the System) financial reporting. Drafts analysis for Funding Corp quarterly variance report, and provides other District required information to the Funding Corp to support the System level disclosures.
5. Supports annual independent external audit. Interfaces with external audit and accounting professionals regarding the District combination, including elimination and combining activities.
6. Manages the collection and consolidation of the District Summary of Deficiencies report, and works with the Bank’s internal audit group as well as the Funding Corporation to support the System ICFR assessment.
7. Selects, trains and supervises a staff of accountants. Sets performance standards, manages workflow, grants authorities, evaluates performance, and recommends personnel actions within delegated authorities. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.

Occasional Travel occurs infrequently (typically, once a month or less).
The typical base pay range for this role is between $131,00 - $161,300. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
