Job Description

The core responsibility of the Cash Management Sales Associate (CMSA) role is to provide consistent and foundational support to Cash Management Sales Consultants in their efforts to retain, grow, and acquire Cash Management Solutions (CMS) customers. CMSA continuously collaborates with the Consultants, Banking Group Relationship Managers, Bank Operations, the CMS Customer Service and Implementation teams, and various other critical partners. To be successful, the CMSA maintains and builds a strong customer focus, an awareness and understanding of the Bank's CMS sales procedures, and is well-versed in the uses of the CMS Products and the operational and pricing aspects of the services used by customers. Given these responsibilities, it is key to hold solid analytical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares for upcoming calls and performs research using industry and client data to focus on trends and needs.
  • Leads the process around the creation of appropriate sales presentations and proposal materials that match customer needs and positions the Bank for success.
  • Prepares for client reviews by coordinating needed materials. Skilled at researching needed internal and external data points to deliver valuable insights and position key points.
  • Executes consistent updates to pipeline management, sales tracking, call reports, and follow-ups. Works to become "expert" with Bank source systems like CRM, pricing tools, core system, implementation systems, and research databases.
  • Supports Sales Consultants in the retention and growth of the current book of customers and exceeding portfolio growth goals.
  • Becomes expert in developing pricing Proforma summaries for CMS product sales. Has a keen understanding of CMS fee schedule, profitability, and pricing strategies to offer ideas on client pricing options.
  • Has a consistent focus on the customer experience and understands the timing and process for service escalations and the implementation process.
  • Leads post-sale customer implementation documents collection and collaborates with CMS Implementations team to ensure a smooth implementation.
  • Develops strong working relationships with internal teams, including CMS Support, Product teams, and Operations.
  • Assists in coordinating internal stakeholder meetings by documenting action items and distributing follow-ups. Daily focus on all needed partner communication, meetings and updates.
  • Learns and adheres to bank policies, compliance requirements, and risk management protocols.
  • Focuses on recognizing cross-sell opportunities, prospecting, and developing new business.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Agribusiness, etc. required

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience in banking, finance, client support, or sales-related roles required
  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, work in a team environment, and adapt to a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling techniques and preparation of pro forma financial statements.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to work effectively with external customers.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus, and build and maintain effective working relationships with management, associates, customers, and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with advanced ability to use spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Participates in mentorship and learning opportunities to prepare for future career advancement within Cash Management.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $75,000 - $85,840. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
