Job Description

As an HR Operations Generalist at CoBank, you will be responsible for coordination and administration of a wide range of human resource activities for programs and processes spanning the entire employee lifecycle, from hire to retire, while driving operational efficiencies, contributing to a culture of compliance, quality, and productivity, and exemplifying a People First attitude. This role is a critical role in delivering world-class experiences for our customers including associates, managers, and partners across CoBank departments. The HR Operations Generalist informs and executes HR operational processes including but not limited to workflow processing, data reporting and warehousing, supporting a variety of HR related projects, and compliance. This role supports all HR teams including benefits, leave, payroll, and recruiting functions. We operate with a "One HR Team" mindset and this role is an important part of that.

Essential Functions

  • As part of a team, performs tasks required to administer, inform, and execute human resource programs across the associate lifecycle including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave, development, performance, and talent management.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from associates, managers, and partners, collaborating with internal partners to provide timely and quality resolution. This includes looping in partners as needed, seeing issues through to resolution, and coordinating warm hand offs to other teams when appropriate.
  • Participates in audit processes to ensure data accuracy in record keeping systems. Identifies trends, sees issues through to resolution and escalates potential risks.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline HR processes and experiences, ensuring practices are compliant with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepares analysis and reporting of data to support associate programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepares and conducts training as needed on HR policies and programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulation, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Applies learnings to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assists in ad-hoc HR projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
  • SHRM-CP preferred

Work Experience

  • 2 years of HR general experience, HR operations preferred. required
  • 2 years of experience in HRIS, and other HR systems required
  • 2 years of experience with detailed and complex HR domains such as benefits administration, compliance, and payroll. preferred
  • 2 years of experience with payroll processes and systems related to retirement plan contributions preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and applying knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Excellent organizational skills, resourceful mindset and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $70,100 - $80,200. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
