Job Description

The Financial Strategy Analyst will assist in the development and execution of the bank's financial strategy. This role involves providing supporting analysis, helping to drive financial initiatives, capital management, and process improvements to support long-term growth and sustainability. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Financial Strategy, the analyst will work collaboratively across all Finance functions and with their leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Essential Functions

  • Produces ad hoc data analysis, research, and financial modeling to assist in the development and implementation of the bank’s long-term financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Applies analytical tools and techniques to support business decisions and process improvements, including cost management, financial systems upgrades, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with strategic initiatives within Finance focusing on optimizing financial processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Follows frameworks developed by the Head of Financial Strategy to assess and measure the impact of finance initiatives on business outcomes.
  • Supports the enhancement of management reporting, profitability analysis, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Assists in identifying and executing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that enhance operational and financial performance.
  • Works effectively within cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive organizational improvements.
  • Assists in the execution of functional plans, initiatives, resource requirements, and budgets, anticipating and managing impact on stakeholders outside the function.
  • Develops financial insights and recommendations for presentation to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors.
  • Assists in the development of investor materials and contributes to annual reporting processes.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance technical expertise and strategic thinking; stays abreast of external economic conditions and best practices.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field required

Work Experience

  • Prior Experience in the Financial Services sector, investment banking or management consulting preferred
  • Familiarity with/Foundational knowledge of the Banking / Financial Services sector (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a high degree of intellectual curiosity / desire to learn
  • Ability to drive custom analysis and modeling in Excel and produce relevant outputs in PowerPoint with limited direction, to inform project planning and execution
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to support data-driven decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a wide variety of tasks, in cross-functional teams and or across multiple departments

Physical Exertion Details

Sedentary Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. The typical base pay range for this role is between $65,500 - $74,940. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
