What You'll Do

Over your 10-week paid internship, our Credit Analyst Interns will analyze balance sheets, cash flow, profitability, liquidity, and solvency statements for commercial credit reports. Interns will engage in a range of portfolio management tasks, including addressing compliance, finance, legal, and closing-related issues. You'll develop your analytical skills through hands-on training, mentorship, and support from a network of peers. Additionally, interns will complete a capstone summer project, which may involve industry research, portfolio analysis, market snapshots, or general economic outlooks.

 

About the Corporate Agribusiness Banking Group (CABG)
The Corporate Agribusiness Banking Group at CoBank manages relationships with large corporate and upper middle-market agribusinesses across the United States. These customers typically generate annual revenues exceeding $500 million. CABG provides syndicated lending solutions—primarily funded term loans—to support mergers, acquisitions, and capital expenditures. The group also offers revolving credit facilities and lease financing, working closely with the Farm Credit Banking Group to serve affiliated Agricultural Credit Associations. CABG’s portfolio is diversified across industry sectors and includes over 200 direct corporate accounts, making it a dynamic and impactful area of the bank’s operation.

 

This internship provides a pathway to our full-time Credit Analyst Program (CAP) upon graduation.

 

This role is hybrid, interns will come into their designated office at least 3 days a week.

 

Interns work approximately 40-hours per week.

Compensation Information

  • Bachelor's Student: $21.75/hour
  • Master's Student: $25.85/hour
  • Summer Living Stipend: $3,500

  • Networking and learning about other divisions within CoBank

Education

  • Currently enrolled in and working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Agribusiness, or a related discipline and in good academic standing
  • While rising seniors will be given priority, we will consider rising juniors

Work Experience

  • Basic understanding of balance sheets, income statements and cash flows
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills in Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Aptitude for learning other software applications
  • Ability to perform research across multiple systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience in agriculture, banking, or financial services industry

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $21.75 - $25.85. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
