What You'll Do
Over your 10-week paid internship, our Credit Analyst Interns will analyze balance sheets, cash flow, profitability, liquidity, and solvency statements for commercial credit reports. Interns will engage in a range of portfolio management tasks, including addressing compliance, finance, legal, and closing-related issues. You'll develop your analytical skills through hands-on training, mentorship, and support from a network of peers. Additionally, interns will complete a capstone summer project, which may involve industry research, portfolio analysis, market snapshots, or general economic outlooks. Below are the various teams under the Rural Infrastructure. Over the summer, you will work with one of these teams.
DI – Digital Infrastructure (Denver)
The Digital Infrastructure (DI) team at CoBank supports enterprise-wide technology solutions that enable secure, scalable, and efficient operations. Interns will assist with digital transformation initiatives, including cloud platform optimization, data architecture enhancements, and cybersecurity protocols. This team is ideal for students interested in IT systems, infrastructure modernization, and digital strategy.
ED – Electric Distribution (Denver)
The Electric Distribution (ED) team provides financing and leasing solutions to electric cooperatives and public power entities serving rural and underserved communities. Interns will support infrastructure project evaluations, assist with lease documentation, and contribute to customer engagement efforts. This team offers exposure to rural utility finance and the modernization of electric distribution networks.
PF – Project Finance (Denver)
The Project Finance (PF) team focuses on structuring and managing financial solutions for large-scale infrastructure and development projects. Interns will help analyze project viability, support financial modeling, and assist with documentation for funding transactions. This team is ideal for students interested in long-term capital investment strategies and complex financial structuring.
PE&U – Power, Energy & Utilities (Denver)
The Power, Energy & Utilities (PE&U) team partners with rural electric generation and transmission cooperatives to provide tailored financial services. Interns will engage in market research, sustainability initiatives, and loan documentation support. This team is well-suited for those interested in renewable energy, infrastructure finance, and rural development.
Water (Denver or Wichita)
The Water team collaborates with rural water systems to ensure reliable access to clean water for homes, farms, and livestock operations. Interns will assist with financing system upgrades, regulatory research, and stakeholder communications. This team offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure projects that directly impact rural communities.
This internship provides a pathway to our full-time Credit Analyst Program (CAP) upon graduation.
This role is hybrid, interns will come into their designated office at least 3 days a week.
Interns work approximately 40-hours per week.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $21.75 - $25.85. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
